Father, 42, engages in anal sex with 3-year old daughter

A 42-year old company driver Kwame Asiamah has allegedly had anal sex with his own 3-year old daughter (name withheld) at Asenua near Mamponteng in the Ashanti region.

The man who is currently on the run did not only subject his daughter to anal sex but had vaginal sex as well.

There is always blood stains anytime the little girl visits the ‘toilet’.

Explaining her daughter’s ordeal in an interview with Ultimatefmonline.com, the mother of the victim, Emelia Asiamah who has since been incensed by the act, said she noticed that her daughter experienced pains anytime she attempts to walk or urinate.

According to her, upon interrogation, the kindergarten pupil disclosed that her father inserted his ‘manhood’ both in her vagina and anus when she the mother was not home.

She added that she was not surprised when her daughter told her of the ordeal because the husband in 2015 had anal sex with their second boy who was almost three years old.

Madam Emelia indicated that out of stigmatisation and fear, she refused to report the case to the police and even the family members.

The suspect later confessed engaging in anal sex with the child on a Kumasi-based Trust Tv after he claimed to have visited more than five deities in the region.

‘The incident happened two weeks ago, but when I questioned my husband about it, he denied and ran away from the house, claiming he couldn’t have had sex with his own daughter. I knew he was lying to me, I don’t know why the man I married has turned into a paedophile. My daughter has not been able to attend school since the incident, how can a father do this to his own daughter?, I thank God that he has publicly confessed, but I have reported the case to the police,’ she mentioned.

The victim’s mother

There are indications the case might die a natural death, as the victim’s mother is said to have taken an amount of GH¢1,000 as compensation from her husband’s hideout days ago.

The police is yet to make arrest after the case was reported two weeks ago.

UPDATE ON THE PSK BASIC SCHOOL WHICH COLLAPSED ON SUNDAY AT ASANTE MAMPONG.

Giving accurate details as to what is happening now at the P.S.K Basic school in Asante Mampong, since monday, school has not been effective after this incident. The Municipal Education director who visited the school, inspected the nature of the collapsed building and saw how serious it was.

When Dess Kiddy News visited the school (Friday, 24th March 2017), some of the students were seriously learning under a tree whiles others (Students) were in a church building learning.


Speaking to the headmaster of the school Mr Attakora, he resisted to speak, just because he has been instructed not to speak to any media.

When Dess Kiddy News inspected the school, it was not the best for the children to learn in that manner. Vividly, some classes were merged together and since there is no chalk board, the teachers finds it difficult to deliver their lessons.

The only question that keeps on ringing in people’s mind is that, until when are they going to keep learning like this and also will the government and the community join hands to build a new classroom block..?

Ambulance Service Operates with Overaged Vehicles

All the 161 ambulances operated by the National Ambulance Service (NAS) are over aged.

The development has compelled officials of the service to raise concerns about their continuous use on the roads.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NAS, Prof. Ahmed Nuhu Zakaria, there were constant breakdowns of the ambulances.

“At any point in time, only about 60 of the ambulances are on the road, with the rest finding their way to workshops due to breakdowns,” he told the Daily Graphic after the opening of the 2017 annual review and management meeting of the service in Accra yesterday.

Prof. Zakaria said the ambulances, which were purchased in 2012, had outlived their life span, a development he feared could work against the service’s aim of meeting its goals.

Government commitment

Fortunately, the CEO said, the current government had demonstrated commitment to strengthen the NAS to the extent that the improvement of the service was captured in the New Patriotic Party’s 2016 election manifesto.

The NAS, established in 2004, is the emergency medical service system of the country dedicated to providing out-of-hospital acute medical care, transport to definitive care and other medical transport to patients with illnesses and injuries which prevent them from transporting themselves.

Inadequate numbers

Prof. Zakaria indicated that Ghana, with a population of over 25 million, needed at least 500 good ambulances to operate an efficient ambulance service.

He advised ambulance drivers to be extra cautious on the road by guarding against speeding.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Prof. Zakaria mentioned the lack of a dedicated source of funding as another problem working against the smooth running of the service. “This, coupled with inadequate funding, impedes smooth operations,” he said.

He also pointed to the non-passage of the NAS Bill as a major hindrance to their activities “since the lack of legislation limits us in so many ways”.

BEKWAI ADVENTIST JHS WINS QUIZ 2017 ORGANIZED BY MUNICIPAL OLD STUDENTS

The quiz that was scheduled on the 17th of March 2017 ended at a glorious joy as the Bekwai Adventist JHS wins the competition organized by the Bekwai Old Students Association.

The quiz was represented by nine (9) schools from a random selection by the Ghana Education Service Bekwai.

The Adventist JHS had 29 points which was closely followed by Bekwai R/C JHS “B” with 28 points.

Surprisingly, there was a tie between Bekwai Anglican JHS and Bekwai R/C JHS “A” with a point of 28.

Questions were carefully set from four (4) subject areas namely; Maths, English, Social and Science.

Speaking to the organizer of the program Mr Osei Poku Asiri who told Dess Kiddy News that, he is so much proud of organizing such educational programs that would boast learning in Bekwai in the Ashanti Region.

Mr Joseph Appiah Kubi who is mostly called Mr Amoateng was revealed to be the main brain for the competition, he told the gathering that. he will collectively help any student who excels in his B.EC.E

Prizes were awarded to the winners which comprised of a HiSense table top fridge and other stationary.

Competitors who were present enjoyed the program which was just a wow to everyone.

The Bekwai Municipal Director thanked the group for their efforts and advised the students to follow their foot step.

 

 

 

Hole in heart baby supported by Stanbic Bank survives surgery

A 7-month old baby, Elaine Esther Akosua Owusu, who was sponsored by Staff of Stanbic Bank has undergone a successful surgery in India.

Born with three holes – one large, two small – in her heart, Baby Elaine’s condition could not be treated in Ghana. Doctors recommended a surgery at Apollo Children’s Hospital in India, without which she would die in four months.

Staff of Stanbic Bank Ghana spearheaded a campaign to raise an amount in excess of $8,500 to support the cost of surgery to correct Elaine’s condition. That campaign also saw well-meaning Ghanaians contribute to the cause.

According to her doctors, Elaine underwent a successful surgery and is as fit as fiddle. She is however scheduled for periodic check-ups at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

“From the day she was brought from ICU, we saw a drastic change,” Abigail Amissah Owusu, Elaine’s mother recounted. “She has become a very happy and lively baby and now sleeps well and eats well. We are eternally grateful for this kind gesture from Stanbic Bank.”

According to Samuel Teye, Head, Human Capital, Stanbic Bank, staff of the Bank, saw the plight of little Elaine as a call to duty.

“The gesture was beyond the fundamental human needs; it was the need to support a life,” Mr. Teye said. “We are all very elated that the surgery was successful and Elaine can now live a healthy life.”

He added it will be great to see Elaine walk in the next few years, knowing that staff of the bank were part of a contribution to make her become what she wants to be in future – a cause he believes is worthy and self-rewarding.
