The majority’s view (level 300 students); payment by cash, has been duly communicated to college administration by the students’ leadership.
Tangible and concrete reasons were given to support the proposed medium of payment.
Reasons were also given to nullify the decision that trainees must open a GCB account before they can access their own monies. Among them are;
1. Trainees do not have GHC50.00 or GHC80.00 as a minimum requirements for opening a GCB bank a/c
2. Assuming a particular trainee is entitled to GHC100.00, he/she went ahead to borrow GHC80.00 to open an account. You would realize that, the trainee would have only GHC20.00 left after paying his/her debt. Is this fair?
Ladies and Gentlemen, payment through cheque was also reiterated as an alternative means of payment.
As it stance, deliberations are on-going among members of college administration concerning the issue under discussion, after which feedback would be communicated to every trainee.
The college bursar(money controller of the college) is still not back from his trip. This may somehow delay the process.
The students’ leadership therefore passionately appeal to all and sundry to keep calm whiles we wait patiently for the monies.
Be rest assured that college administration would not in anyway take decisions that would suppress trainees but rather favour us.
Thanks for your cooperation.
Do have a wonderful night!
